I am Amie Stoppard, a UKCP-registered psychotherapist in private practice. My practice address is Bromley, BR1. I am the data controller for personal information collected through this website and in the course of our work together.
If you have any questions about how I handle your data, you can contact me at: doulamie@gmail.com
Enquiries and initial contact When you contact me through this website or by email, I collect your name, email address, and any information you choose to share. I use this to respond to your enquiry and, if we proceed, to arrange an initial consultation.
Clients If you become a client, I hold your name, contact details, and clinical notes relating to our sessions. I keep these in order to provide you with a safe, continuous therapeutic service.
I do not use an online booking system or payment platform. I do not run a mailing list. Beyond email, I do not use any third-party software that processes your personal data.
For enquiries: legitimate interests (responding to your contact with me).
For clients: the performance of a contract for therapeutic services, and — where clinical notes touch on health information — the provision of health care by a regulated professional (Article 9(2)(h) UK GDPR).
Clinical notes and client records are stored securely. Emails are held in a password-protected account. I do not store client information on shared or cloud systems accessible to others.
I follow the record-keeping guidance of the UKCP, and retain client records for a minimum of seven years after the end of our work together (or, where a client is a minor, until they reach the age of 25), after which records are securely destroyed.
I do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
In limited circumstances, I may need to share information:
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

I take all feedback seriously and am committed to handling any concerns fairly, transparently, and promptly. This procedure covers two types of complaint: concerns about my therapeutic practice, and concerns about how I have handled your personal data.
If you have a concern about any aspect of our work together, I would always encourage you to raise it with me directly in the first instance — either in a session or by email. Many concerns can be resolved through open conversation.
If you feel unable to raise the matter with me directly, or if you remain dissatisfied after doing so, you can contact my professional body:
United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) complaints@ukcp.org.uk 020 7014 9955 ukcp.org.uk/complaints
If you believe I have not handled your personal data in accordance with UK data protection law, please contact me in the first instance using the details below. You are also entitled to raise the matter directly with the ICO at any stage (see below).
You can contact me by:
I will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days of receiving it. I will then investigate the matter and provide you with a full written response as soon as reasonably practicable. If I need more time — for example, because the matter is complex — I will let you know and keep you updated on progress.
If you are not satisfied with my response, or if you prefer to complain directly to the regulator, you can contact:
